FED: Australians vote no to going it alone in Iraq: poll
MELBOURNE, Jan 18 AAP - Only 6 per cent of Australians are prepared to send Australiantroops to war against Iraq without United Nations backing, an exclusive poll in today'sThe Age newspaper has found.
The AC Nielsen AgePoll reveals that 62 per cent of respondents said Australia shouldbe involved in a conflict only if approved by the UN.
One in three believed war against Iraq was not acceptable under any circumstances.
However the political dominance of Prime Minister John Howard continues, regardlessof his Iraq stance.
