Prosecutors can use color autopsy photos of the three Pittsburghpolice officers Richard Poplawski is accused of killing, anAllegheny County judge ruled today, but can't use a photo showingthe exit wounds on one of them.
Poplawski, 24, is accused of fatally shooting Pittsburgh policeOfficers Eric G. Kelly, Stephen J. Mayhle and Paul J. Sciullo II,who responded to a domestic disturbance call from his mother attheir Stanton Heights home in April 2009.
His trial is scheduled to start Monday, and Common Pleas JudgeJeffrey Manning today heard arguments on several motions concerningthe evidence that will be used at the trial. He did not yet rule onwhether the prosecution can use an animation showing itsreconstruction of what happened, as well as recordings of anInternet radio talk show Poplawski co-hosted.
