Fed: Labor will reap more than $8bln in savings: McMullan =2

Treasurer Peter Costello said he did not believe Labor would be able to reap more than
$8 billion in savings if it won government to fund tax cuts and other social programs.

Mr Costello said he believed Labor's spending promises announced so far exceeded $8 billion.

He called on Labor to release its list of savings.

"If Mr McMullan has it (the list) I call on him to release it today and then I'll show
you that he's already spent more than that, so that can't pay for any tax cuts," he told
the Nine Network.
